In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory of Mary-Isabelle Rivas

Isabelle (or Belle as we called her) was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (aka a hole in her diaphragm). The odds were against her, but she was the first survivor of hernia repair while on ECMO for her surgeon and her hospital. She came home with a trache, vent, oxygen and feeding tube. She slowly got better and inspired her mother to become a Registered Nurse. She became fluent in three languages (English, Spanish and ASL) and loved to dance folklorico, and even performed at Disneyland. She was the seventh child, having 5 brothers and 1 sister. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. A passenger in a car accident, she left us too soon. She leaves behind her loving mother and father, her siblings, extended family, many friends, and her dog, Harley. She continues to inspire her family with her energetic presence. We continue to look for and receive signs from her. We carry her with us always!

We love you Belle. See you in the next chapter! ~Love, Mom

Remembered by All who knew her.
