We will begin with a buffet of cold cut sandwiches, salads, chips, and desserts. Then we will have the candle lighting. We provide battery operated candles, and a program of poems, music and sharing. Our event is held inside.

Please bring a plate of cookies or finger snacks to share. You may bring a photo of your children, grandchildren, and sibling for our picture board, no larger than 5 x 7″

Dinner starts at 6:30 PM; Candle lighting starts at 7:00 PM with dessert after until 8:30 PM.

If you want to have your children, grandchildren, and siblings’ picture in one of the picture frames, please send me a picture of your children, grandchildren, and sibling by December 5th, so we can add it to the gallery.

Deserts and a sharing time with friends and family

Readings of our Credos – The Compassionate Friends Credo and Walk with Siblings. Special music by the Love in Motion Signers. Beautiful slide presentation a tribute to our children, grandchildren, and siblings. Candle lighting children, grandchildren, and siblings – passing out candles provided by the chapter and each attendee being able to say your children, grandchildren, and siblings name as you light your candle. “Tonight, I Hold This Candle” – Special song and music sung by Alan Pedersen’s recording with Love in Motion Signers in American Sign Language performing. Special table provided – Opportunity to share your children, grandchildren, and siblings pictures/photo albums/ special remembrances especially if unable to be in slide presentation.

Luminaria bags and coloring devices and votive candles will be provided to honor, design, decorate your luminaria to remember your children, grandchildren, and siblings. Come early as 5:45 PM.  Others, please remember to bring your luminaria bags with you that you may have made at home or at our last in-person meeting.

Light refreshments will be served . Time provided for socialization. “Seasons” a video provided by Love In Motion through courtesy of Laura Baxter, Director may be shown during this time.

Grace Saputo is our new Co-leader as of March, 2023.

This special service will include poems, selected readings, beautiful musical performances with a featured singer, candle lighting, and a slideshow of our children, siblings, and grandchildren. There will also be beautiful glowing luminaries lining the path to our ceremony.

If you would like, please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Santa Clarita Grocery to assist the Church with their efforts.

Coffee, hot chocolate and desserts will be served after the ceremony.

Pictures of our children, grandchildren, sibling will be placed around the room with a candle in front of the picture.

Bring a picture of your children, grandchildren, sibling; any small treat to share or water bottles to share.

Refreshments and social time, be there 6:30 PM so everyone can get ready it is easiest to park in the back parking lot off Voorhees, we have a large meeting room in the back of the property.

Bring a jacket, we light battery candles outside on the patio and place them in luminaries, about 15 minutes.

Readings, music, candle ceremony, passing of the flame with our children, grandchildren, and siblings names.

Attendees may bring photos or mementos for the memory tables; please contact us directly by Dec 5 about photos for the electronic photo frame.

Social time before the candle lighting, with viewing of memory tables and electronic photo frame. Doors will open at 6:30pm.

Parking is limited; please carpool when possible. Overflow parking may be available at the adjacent church on Pacheco Ave.

Picture no larger than 8×10 to place on altar. You will be given a votive battery-operated candle, once your precious children, grandchildren, and sibling’s name is read, you will walk to altar, and place it by their photo. You will also be given a tapered candle.

Our evening will include readings, special music, reading of children, grandchildren, and sibling names, a PowerPoint presentation of the children, grandchildren, and sibling being honored this year while families light a special candle for their children, grandchildren, and siblings.

Remember to submit your children, grandchildren, and sibling information and photos to lauraleighlindsay@gmail.com by the end of the month:

1. Your children, grandchildren, and siblings full name, date of birth, date of passing for our printed program.
2. Three of your favorite photos of your children, grandchildren, and sibling or you and your children, grandchildren, and sibling, at any age for our PowerPoint presentation
3. A list of your children, grandchildren, and sibling favorite music, or any music that’s been helpful to you during your grieving process

Remember to be gathering your framed photos and special items relating to your children, grandchildren, and sibling for your individual memorial displays. These will be set up on 8-ft tables. Bring your items with you to the event.

Food contributions are welcome but not required. Please consider bringing a salad, finger foods, or a dessert. Food should be delivered to the Community Room by 5:30 PM so our dinner can begin at 6 PM.
