Ke'Ron Hall

1540 Homeplace Court

To Uncle R.J.,

I find it so interesting how I don’t realize that another year has passed until I write to you like this. Time flows by without a notice. The fact that I always imagine what life would have been like with you here completely fascinates me. Even though it’s speculation and pure fantasy, the thought of a world with you still living in it is warmer. I cherish our memories; I snatch them with a grip, lock them with a key , and hug them closely.

And I light this candle.

You were the closest thing I have ever had to an actual older brother and there are moments when I question myself. If you were still here, breathing life everyday, what would I do?

Would I try to be like you?
Would I rush to you in need of advice?
Could I trust you or would you allow me to?
Would you be my support?
Would we be there for each other?

The answers are left unanswered, but not unknown. For I actually believe that we both would say “yes” to every single one of my questions.

I love you so much and when I see you again, I can’t wait to hear your actual answers in person. Then we could actually live a life that I imagine at night and see in my daydreams. It will be better than heavenly.

Love always, from your nephew,

Ke’Ron H.
