In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory of Hayleigh Gibson

Born in Asheville, NC on January 17, 1995, Hayleigh was diagnosed with OTC (a rare metabolic disorder) at 26 months old. From an early on, she loved music, singing and dancing, learning both violin and piano at a young age. She had such a beautiful voice, and was in choir throughout her 12 years in school. She also sang in the Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir, performing with them at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. She loved listening to all kinds of music, going to music festivals and concerts, reading books and watching movies. She was happiest at the beach – Topsail Beach, NC was her favorite. She also loved the mountains, taking long drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking to many beautiful spots and waterfalls. Hayleigh loved all furry friends, but her cats were special to her. She also enjoyed aerial yoga and was interested in holistic health and natural healing.

When her OTC could no longer be controlled with diet and medication, she decided to have a liver transplant (the only cure), but it came with complications and a progressive decline in health. She joined the angel’s choir on November 24, 2020 – forever 25. She was a fighter to the very end. We miss her witty sense of humor, sassy attitude, and empathy for others. We miss her voice, especially in song, drifting up the staircase and, most of all, Mom misses those special hugs.
