Leo left us suddenly on January 12,1991 at the age of 44. Always full of laughter, loved his family and was valued for his kind heart and good nature. Leo left countless memories which included: saving one of his daughters from drowning and the wonderful feeling she felt from his love and protection; and the time when one asked him to send money. He asked her who Marcus Garvey was. She didn’t know so he told her to find out, call him back with the answer and only then would he send the money. He wanted his girls to acquire knowledge, skills and experiences that would contribute to their personal growth and success.
Strangely, Leo kept a baby alligator in his backyard in a bathtub and like his father, he enjoyed and loved fishing. He had a tendency to debate (loved to win) and enjoyed playing practical jokes and pranks on everyone, especially our brother Melvin.
There were many remarkable aspects to Leo’s life and the numerous ways that he touched so many lives. He is remembered as an amazing brother, father, uncle, cousin and great friend. In all these ways and more, Leo made our lives richer and fuller. He will forever live in our family’s memories and stories, and will continue to be loved and missed beyond measures.
Remembered by Siblings: Melvin, Bonita, Vanetta, Yvette and Elfreda
