POSTPONED – TCF HAWAII REGIONAL GRIEF CONFERENCE RESCHEDULED to JANUARY 21 & 22, 2021
After much deliberation and consideration, our committee has made the difficult decision to postpone Hope, Healing & Aloha: TCF Hawaii Regional Grief Conference 2020 due to increasing concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As we’ve seen more and more cases confirmed around the nation and Hawaii has confirmed its first case, we are joining the numerous other event organizers in deciding to postpone our conference out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of our participants in mind. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, as we know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting the conference and have travel plans in place.
The good news is that we have been able to work with Ala Moana Hotel to secure new dates for the conference early next year (January 21 & 22, 2021). While we still need to solidify the minor details, it appears that the majority of our speakers are able to participate on these new dates.
We are rushing this communication out to all of you, as we know that adjustments will need to be made to travel plans and work schedules. Here are a few details:
If you are booked for a stay at Ala Moana Hotel, your reservation will be cancelled. Ala Moana will revise the online link to rebook for the new dates. We will send an email to let you know when the link is ready.
As for your Eventbrite conference reservation, please know that no action is required to maintain your reservation. For those who leave their reservation in place, we would like to thank you by providing 10 free raffle tickets for our rescheduled conference. If you need to cancel, you are able to do so at https://HawaiiGriefConference2020.Eventbrite.com.
Regarding airline reservations, please immediately contact your carrier to advise them of this cancellation. Some airlines are extending some rescheduling courtesies due to the Coronavirus outbreak and increasing travel restrictions.
We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause you, but we hope you agree that this is the responsible way to move forward. Many participants who contacted us in the past week were hoping that the event would be rescheduled, amidst the uncertainty of what will unfold in the coming weeks and months.
