Memories

There’s a vacant seat by the fire,”
Those words of Dickens say,
In place of the child no longer here
to join the holiday.

So we’ll open our priceless memories,
Like precious gifts to share,
We’ll rejoice in these and friends like you,
Who understand and care.

  • This year, 2021 Christmas, we are celebrating my child, who left a perfect legacy of her child, son-in-law and 3 mischievous grandsons. My child and I started celebrating Christmas for the kids with a Christmas Craft Day, held a few weeks before the birthday party of Jesus Christ. My child and I would prepare gingerbread houses for the kids to decorate. We also made gingerbread cookies and the kids painted glass ornaments for their family trees. My precious granddaughter wanted to hold onto that this tradition. This year one of my sons invited a neighbor of his, Santa Bob, to come to our craft day. Santa Bob is to be a surprise. Before my child passed, she told me how her daughter was concerned about glass ornaments being broken. This year we have large plastic ornaments and will use acrylic paints. One of my nieces passed a few years ago. We have invited her five-year old child to paint an ornament in memory of her mother and for her tree. I prepare a huge Italian meal for the kids and then the parents to take home to enjoy. This year I am having my great grand girls help bake the cookies. Also, have a playdate to bake cookies, with my 5-year-old great grandson for Santa. I am baking and freezing more goodies for the kids to take home and enjoy with their friends. This way I am productivity busy and do not focus on the loss of my child, I focus on being the best role model for my family. Amen and Hallelujah!

  • I have one son, two stepsons, one son-in-law and one brother that have passed. My brother Kendra Dolin passed Nov. 21, 2021. He died from lung cancer. He was 71. My son-in-law, Jason “Jake” Rollyson, passed May 18, 2019. He passed from a tragic automobile crash. He was 44. My oldest stepson, William O. Ore, passed August 15, 2018. The day before his 52 birthday. He had heart problems that was a result of his past drug use. My son, Jacob Chase Ore, was found a month after he had been missing. , 4 months after his 21st birthday. He was found in the river near his apartment. We still have no idea what happened., don’t know the reason or who was involved! My other stepson, Matthew Rogers Ore, passed June 30, 1993. He was 22. Another unknown death. He was with his girlfriend and his gun just happened to go off and shoot him dead. I also lost my baby sister, Donna Jean Pullins, just 9 months old from double pneumonia back in 1957. So I have lit a candle for each one of these special family members.
God Bless them all !! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
