Communities across the globe will be joining in The Compassionate Friends 13th Worldwide Candle Lighting on December 13, 2009.
You are invited to provide us information about your Worldwide Candle Lighting event for posting so people in your area will know of your service and be able to attend. Please complete the Worldwide Candle Lighting Information Form. Note: we reserve the right to edit all submissions.
IMPORTANT: If you attempt to submit your candle lighting service and we do not contact you or your service is not listed within 24 hours, please contact Joan@compassionatefriends.org.

Boulder City/Las Vegas Area – Southern Nevada Chapter of The Compassionate Friends
Date & Time: December 13, 2009 7:00 PM
Location: St Jude's Ranch for Children off of US Highway 93 (see directions), Boulder City , NV Directions: From Las Vegas or Henderson take the US 95 South into Boulder City, at the second stop light turn left on Buchanan Blvd/Hwy 93 following the signs towards the Hoover Dam. Approx 3/4 mile down the hill on the left side you will see the entrance gates for St. Jude's Ranch it will be well lit with Christmas decorations, please proceed thru the gates and to the parking area to the left of the chapel.
Highlights: Guest speaker Beth Creel, PhD. Readings, poems, music, saying our children's names, and candle lighting.
Bring: PLEASE BRING A CANDLE TO LIGHT. Also bring pictures, poems to read, or remembrances.
Special Events (before): Please arrive at 6:30 PM; program will start promptly at 7:00 PM.
Special Events (after): Light refreshments will be provided and there will be a sharing time in the conference room after the candle lighting ceremony. The chapel will also be open for private meditation.
Additional: Boulder City is located just 8 miles south of Henderson. We hope this location will bring people from all over the Las Vegas Valley.

Reno – Reno Chapter of The Compassionate Friends
Date & Time: December 13, 2009 7:00 PM
Location: Temple Sinai-Social Hall, 3405 Gulling Rd, Reno, NV Directions: I-80 W, Exit 12 Keystone, left on Kings Rd, right on Bridgewood Ln (just past Towles Elementary School), right on Gulling.
Highlights: Program starts promptly at 7:00 PM and includes community guest speakers, readings, poetry, music, and saying of our children's names.
Bring: A remembrance table will be available for family and friends to bring a photo or special remembrance of their loved one. Candles will be provided to all attendees.
Special Events (after): Light refreshments and time for sharing following the ceremony.
