Communities across the globe will be joining in The Compassionate Friends 13th Worldwide Candle Lighting on December 13, 2009.

You are invited to provide us information about your Worldwide Candle Lighting event for posting so people in your area will know of your service and be able to attend. Please complete the Worldwide Candle Lighting Information Form.  Note: we reserve the right to edit all submissions.

Kansas City – Village Community Church and the Piper Community in conjunction with the Worldwide Candle Lighting

Date & Time: December 13, 2009 starting at 6:00 PM and candle lighting at 7:00 PM

Highlights: Pastor Dave Hazel, Nela Bruner, and Stewart family. Please join us for this special evening as we come together to honor and remember all of our children who have gone to soon.

Leavenworth – TCF Two Hearts Chapter of Leavenworth

Highlights: Program will start at 6:30 PM with readings, poems, and music. Reading of children's names will start promptly at 7:00 PM.
Bring: A framed 5x7 picture or small remembrance of your child for the memory table. Leave a message for your child on the memory tree.

Olathe – Johnson County Chapter of The Compassionate Friends

Date & Time: December 13, 2009 6:45 PM
Location: Laura's Place, 1700 E Sheridan Ave, Olathe, KS (next to Havencroft Elementary School)
Highlights: Luminaries will light your way to a circle where our program will take place. There will be music, readings, poetry, and the reading of children's names.
Bring: Our program will begin on time at 6:45 PM, so plan to arrive early if possible. We will provide candles. Dress warmly as this is an outdoor event. Our event will NEVER be cancelled due to weather.
Special Events (after): Hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and cookies will be served in the multi-purpose room at Havencroft Elementary after the program.
