Communities across the globe will be joining in The Compassionate Friends 13th Worldwide Candle Lighting on December 13, 2009.
You are invited to provide us information about your Worldwide Candle Lighting event for posting so people in your area will know of your service and be able to attend. Please complete the Worldwide Candle Lighting Information Form. Note: we reserve the right to edit all submissions.

Rehoboth Beach – Lighthouse Chapter of The Compassionate Friends
Date & Time: December 13, 2009 7:00 PM
Location: Epworth United Methodist Church, Holland Glade Rd, Rehoboth Beach, DE
Highlights: Kim Book, a survivor, founder, and program coordinator of Victims' Voices Heard www.victimsvoicesheard.org will be the keynote speaker. Kim's topic is titled "The Mountain Top View". She says that "enduring the grief caused by death of a child can be like trying to climb a mountain". She will speak about how to help see the mountain as an opportunity for a better view.
Special Events (before): Attendees should come to Epworth around 6:30 PM to register their child's name and date of death to be read at the candle lighting.
Special Events (after): Sharing will follow the event with light refreshments.
Additional: This is the 10th annual candle lighting by the Lighthouse Chapter. Along with raising of the candle in memory each time a name of a lost child is read, a bell will be tolled.

Smyrna – Bay Breeze Chapter of The Compassionate Friends

Location: St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Smyrna, DE
Highlights: Music selections, poems, inspirational testimonials, reading of children's names, slide show of children, and other expressions.
Bring: Pictures or remembrance of your child.
Special Events (before): Registration from 5:30-6:20 PM and sharing time before candle lighting ceremony.
Special Events (after): Refreshments and sharing time after candle lighting ceremony from 7:20-8:30 PM.
