Communities across the globe will be joining in The Compassionate Friends 13th Worldwide Candle Lighting on December 13, 2009.

You are invited to provide us information about your Worldwide Candle Lighting event for posting so people in your area will know of your service and be able to attend. Please complete the Worldwide Candle Lighting Information Form.  Note: we reserve the right to edit all submissions.

IMPORTANT: If you attempt to submit your candle lighting service and we do not contact you or your service is not listed within 24 hours, please contact Joan@compassionatefriends.org.

Headland – Wiregrass Chapter of The Compassionate Friends

Location: Living Waters, Headland, AL (From Hwy 431N, take State Hwy 134W to County Rd 83. Turn right and continue about 6 miles to County Rd 125. Turn right and Living Waters is the first driveway immediately on the left. We meet in the building up the hill)
Highlights: Speaking at 6:50 PM, before the candle lighting, will be Alabama's Attorney General, Troy King.
Bring: Please bring a candle to light in memory of your child and a covered dish or dessert.
Special Events (before): Covered dish meal and desserts for sharing time before the candle lighting.

Huntsville – Huntsville Area Chapter of The Compassionate Friends with Hospice Family Care

Date & Time: December 13, 2009 6:30-8:30 PM
Location: Mayfair Church of Christ (fellowship hall), 1095 Carl T. Jones Dr, Huntsville, AL (enter the parking lot from the front and then make an immediate right turn to park on the side of the church).
Highlights: Special music, reading of names, picture slide show, readings, and reflection.
Bring: Candle to sit on display table (candles to hold will be provided), picture (4x6 or 5x7), small memento, and finger food or snack to share.
Special Events (after): Snacks and fellowship to follow the program.
Additional: If you would like your child's picture included in the slide show, they must be submitted no later than November 20th (call contacts for details).
