The Compassionate Friends intends for its website to be a safe, supportive, and informative tool to benefit those who are grieving due to the death of a child. To that end, TCF wishes to be respectful of its users’ privacy while managing the realities of maintaining and developing its website.

The Compassionate Friends only uses our donors’ personal information for the purpose for which it was submitted, and does not share this information with any outside sources. The Compassionate Friends only retains names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses, and the information collected by The Compassionate Friends is only used internally in a confidential, password-protected database. If you wish for your donation to be anonymous, please notify us at the time of your donation.

In order to better serve its members and to adequately maintain its website, The Compassionate Friends may automatically collect information on TCF server logs from your browser including your IP address, TCF cookie information, and the pages you visited on our website. TCF collects no personal data except what you supply as part of your request for information, services, or when you make a donation to TCF. TCF will retain transcripts of interactions occurring in the interactive Online Support Community, as well.

If you have subscribed to TCF’s E-Newsletter, TCF will send you regular communications as

Any personally identifiable information submitted by you is kept strictly confidential and is only
used by TCF to provide the information or service that you requested and, possibly, for
fundraising/marketing efforts of TCF. The Compassionate Friends will not sell or rent lists containing your information to any third party. TCF may disclose information when it has your permission to do so or under special circumstances, such as when it believes in good faith that the law requires it.

When charge card payments are made on the website, your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the Internet.

While The Compassionate Friends wishes it could guarantee that all data transmitted to it over the Internet is 100% secure, The Compassionate Friends cannot make this guarantee. Therefore, regrettably, all transmissions are at your own risk. Once The Compassionate Friends receives your information, TCF will endeavor to ensure its security on TCF systems.
